John Newbery Medal - Current
In the U.S., the John Newbery Medal is the most prestigious award that a
children's book author can receive. The Newbery Medal is an annual children’s
book award from the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) of the
American Library Association (ALA). It is presented “to the author of the most
distinguished contribution to American literature for children published in
English in the United States during the preceding year.”
